EarthTrek Expeditions began in 1977 as an outdoor recreation tour operator. Running whitewater rafting trips on the American River eventually became our specialty as well as creating one of the best river camps in the Coloma-Lotus Valley.
We have now teamed up with OARS, one of the most respected rafting outfitters in the country, to take over the operation of our river trips while we concentrate on making our campground and event facilities top notch.
We host a variety of group events such as weddings, Gold Rush living history camps, youth summer camps, family reunions, corporate events, retreats, and much, much more!

EarthTrek Expeditions was founded in 1977 by Jerry Ashburn and continues on today with the help of his daughter Laura and wife Susan. You will find them working together preparing your meals in the kitchen, keeping the grounds clean and tidy, helping to plan your group event, and always delighted to provide you with the best hospitality at their American River camp.
